Menu Planning

So, we menu plan...kinda always have. But now Im working on planning for 2 weeks at a time. It makes things seem less crazy in our house when at least one thing is set and we can always count on...a great dinner plan. Plus it helps with the grocery shopping, less trips to the store. Don't get me wrong. I still go once a week, but that once a week trip is just for milk, bread, fruits and veggies. I usually go 1-2 times a month for my big non perishable, stock my pantry grocery trip.



Im hoping to come and post my 2 week menu plan for everyone. Hoping to give others inspiration and maybe even some helpful tips! ;)



9/7- Beef tacos with all the trimmings and yellow rice



9/8- No Meat Spaghetti, Spinach Salad, and bread



9/9- Pork chops in cream of mushroom sauce, Crashed Hot Potatoes and Roasted Veggies.



9/10- Fish Tacos with all the trimmings



9/11- Eggplant Parm, salad, and bread



9/12- Homemade French Bread Pizzas



9/13- DH's birthday! His request: Roast, Rice, Corn on the Cob, and cake balls!



9/14- Stuffed Manicotti, veggie



9/15- King Ranch Chicken and roasted veggies



9/16- Fundraising Night for Madison's school at Texas Roadhouse



9/17-Crossiant Paninni(Madison calls these Moon Sandwiches) and soup. (Pasta e Fagoli or Potato Soup)



9/18- Any leftovers in the fridge



9/19- Tacos for a Bunko Party



9/20- DH will be in College Station cheering on the Aggies, so its just the kids and myself. Not sure what we will do yet! ;)

First Day of School

OK so I know Im about 2 weeks late posting this but...hey...its been a little chaotic here in the Gutierrez household!

Madison started Kindergarten! Akkk! I can not believe my baby girl is in Kindergarten! She is doing fantastic so far! My big girl decided she did not want mommy to take her to school so she opted to ride the bus! Luckily the bus picks up and drops off right at the end of the street. And of course, Miss Smarty Pants has memorized her bus number and even knows her bus drivers name and which seat is for her! Her teacher, Ms Bailey, is wonderful. Madison has even decided some days she wants to buy her lunch! Good thing I loaded her card with money! She has even memorized her card number so she can punch it in herself! Its just like a little PIN number she has. I load it with money and when she punches in her number it takes away from the balance. Pretty nifty huh?! I wish I could tell you what she has learned at school or what they have done, but Madison always says she doesnt remember. All she can tell me is that they went to PE, art or music and that they went outside and then she can tell me what she ate today. I usually have to wait till Friday when they send home the progress report to see what they have done for the week.

Madison was not the only kiddo who started school. Christopher started school as well. He goes Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9:30am-2pm. He is adjusting I think. Still cries a little, but his progress report says he does well. Most kids are adjusting his age, still going through the seperation anxiety. I think he enjoys being around other kids and will only get more comfortable at drop off time the more times he goes.

Wool!

So, as most of you know...we switched to cloth diapers. Made the switch a couple months ago. Christopher's skin is doing wonderfully in cloth! I'm so excited about it! And to top it off, we are doing something fantastic for the environment! I cant wait to start buying tiny diapers for the baby!

Cuteness!

First off, I know its been a while but you would not believe how crazy it is here. So I apoligize for not posting much.

Be sure to check my blog over the next couple days, I plan to post a ton. I actually have them typed and saved so I can post almost one a day for the whole weekend. There will be a lot of pics in the posts for sure! SO bookmark me, subscribe, whatever...just make sure you come back! ;)

Ok, now for the cuteness that the title suggests.

As most of you know, Madison gave Christopher his first haircut back before Easter....yes his first...she cut off a lot of his cute baby curls...I was devestated. Took me a long time to get over it. Well....Im back to that point. DH took the kiddos to get their haircuts last night. Mainly Madison since today is picture day at school. So while he was there, he went ahead and got Christophers done as well. So...he now has his first big boy haircut! The curls are gone...and Im sad, but he looks so cute and so grown up. I cant believe I agreed to a haircut but at the same time its so sweet to see him with a big boy haircut and he had a great time getting it cut.
