Today Jacob had his first meeting with Dr. Hogarth.
The kids just love our pediatrician. It makes the 30 minute drive worth it.
Now to recap: Jacob was 7lbs 6 ounces at birth, on Tuesday when we left the hospital he was 7lbs 2 ounces and today with Dr. Hogarth he was 7lbs 8.5 ounces! So he is gaining perfectly.
I talked with her about his spitting up issues. He is spitting up and instead of spitting it out of his mouth he tends to swallow it and then make these pitiful little faces like its burning going back down. I told her I was afraid it was reflux since Christopher had reflux as a infant and we didnt treat him till he was much older. She agreed that it could very well be reflux and we should start doing things now. So, we changed his formula to the same formula we switched Christopher too when we discovered his reflux...so he is now on Soy Formula. She said if that doesnt help a little then we will also had a medication to that. With Christopher the change in formula was not enough so we had to add a medication to give him some relief. Hopefully the formula change alone will be enough to help out Jacob.
Other than that, I had no other concerns. After the doctor just "ooh" and "Aww" over him it was time for us to go.
Jacob goes back to the doctor at 1 month old for his next Hep B shot and a well visit so we can track his weight gain and growth.
