Back in Texas

I am back from my trip to California...it was a much needed trip. Very nice and relaxing and I loved spending time with my friend Shar. I didnt take too many pics but will post the few I took later.

I have not done any bargin shopping really since I have been gone. There are lots of good ECB deals at CVS this week so maybe I will venture out to those. Office Max and Staples has some back to school supplies that might be worth checking out.

Intelligender test ? Pink or Blue?

Well since Im 10 weeks I thought I would take one of those new Intelligender tests.


Their claim is that they can tell you what you are having much earlier than a ultrasound.


On their website it says they are 90% accurate.








SO if that is the case then it looks like we could be expecting a BOY!

Of course Im not rushing out to buy blue things, I know this isnt always accurate. Im still holding out on hope on a little girl and we will just wait and see what the ultrasound says when its time.

Walgreens Deals

I ran to Walgreens this morning and ended up with some great deals.

In this picture we have:

2 Twirling wands for the kids, on clearance for 99 cents each

3 packs of notebook paper

5 packs of pink erasers

3- flexible rulers

3 packs of mechanical pencils

3 packs of no.2 pencils

3 packs of colored pencils

2- school boxes

2 packs of g2 gel pens

3 bottles of glue

4 rolls of aluminum foil

Total OOP: $16.91

Total saved: 36.68!

All these items were either on sale or had a coupon with them, the coupons were all in the Walgreens Ad so you can get them from the ad that they have at the front of the store. There was a limit on some of the items.

These school supplies will probably be donated to Madison's school as Ive already picked up her school supplies for the year.

Homemade Cleaner

Someone posted a comment asking me to post the recipe for the homemade cleaner I use so I thought I would take the time to do this for them .

Here is the recipe I use. I got it off a website called The Green Mop. They have several different type so check out their website for more info.

All Purpose Cleaner

2 tablespoons vinegar

2 cups hot water

1/4 cup liquid soap (ECOVER liquid dishwashing liquid or Ivory dishwashing liquid)

Mix everything but soap in a spray bottle and shake.
Add 1/4 cup liquid soap last.
Mix gently.
Apply and wipe clean.

Good for counters, wood work, appliances, etc.

Last of the Free Shampoo!

After going to 2 more stores, I was able to use all my shampoo coupons and I also got some of the free gum! The gum is a monthly CVS deal so it is generation ECB.

Sunday's Deal

First Day Back to Couponing is a semi good day.

I had some issues at my first CVS with them not accepting my B1G1 Free Coupons. Second Store took them no problem, they just didnt have enough. I still need to find 6 more bottles of the shampoo to use all my coupons.

CVS Trip

4- Bottles of Loreal Vive Gloss Pro Shampoo/Conditioner

Total OOP: 0.00 This shampoo/Conditioner is B1G1 Free and I had coupons that were B1G1 Free. So I got 4 bottles and used 2 of my coupons. The shampoo is regularly 4.99!

Kroger Trip

2- Womens Gillette Shave Gel

1- Mens Gillette Shave Gel

3- Bottles of Herbel Essense Shampoo/Conditioner

Total OOP- $ 5.44

The deal is buy 3 participating P&G Items and get 1.00 off each item. The Shampoo is 2.50, so you buy 3 and you get them for 1.50 each. I had 1 coupon for $3.00 off any 2. So I got 3 bottles of Shampoo for 1.50.

The shave gel is $2.39 regular, I bought 3 so I got each one for 1.39 each. I then had 2- 55 cent coupons. SO I got 2 bottles for 85 cents each and 1 for 1.39

Total Savings at Kroger: $ 12.37! Thats a 73% savings!

Back to being a coupon fool!

So I took a break from couponing, mainly because I wanted to buy all natural, organic items for my family and of course most of those items do not have coupons out.

But the cost of items are just becoming too much and the way the economy is, its time for me to start saving more money. Im still going to buy organic milk and produce for sure and Christophers shampoo/bodywash will need to be the organic fragrance free stuff since his skin is soo sensitive, but everything else, if I can get it with a coupon you can bet your sweet behind that Im getting it! I will continue to make my own household cleaner though b/c well, its cheap and I actually really like it.

I used to have a big stockpile but I gave some away and even sold some to my mom, but now I need to get it back up and running. I have lots of inserts I need to clip and get my coupon notebook organized. Once I have that done I can take a picture to share.

The first big coupon trip Im going to do is going to be at CVS on Sunday. Loreal Vive Shampoo is buy 1 get 1 free. This past Sunday there was a coupon for Loreal Vive shampoo, b1g1 free. So that is free shampoo! I have 5 of these coupons so that amounts to 10 bottles of shampoo for free!! What a amazing bargain to get started back with dont you agree?!

Updating the bun...

I had a Dr appt on Thursday, the 9th. I met the new doctor, Dr Norton. She was really nice, but really quick...she was in and out of the room in no time. My friend said it is probably b/c she was behind in appt. I can understand that since my appt time was at 1:30 and I didn't get back into a room till almost 3pm! But I liked her so, that's all that really matters. I have also been really really sick with this pregnancy(lost 7lbs already) so she gave me Zofran and I just have to say that stuff is awesome!! I'm not 100% better but I can eat a little more than I had been which is always good.

I had a ultrasound and on Thursday I was exactly 8 weeks. So due around February 18th-19th. Which is the exact date I had figured out by my own calculations. The ultrasound pic looks like a little blob....LOL You cant really tell that its a baby at all.

I had some blood work done, 5 vials! Ouch! But it is needed by all patients of course. I met with the OB coordinator to find out how much I'm going to have to pay before the baby is born, and let me just say...eating out and spending on non essential items is really going to have to die down here! We have our weeks where we go over board but overall I think we do pretty good, but after getting that number from the OB coordinator I think it needs to go down a little more.

My next appt is August 7th. I have another ultrasound. I will be around 12 weeks, which is too early to tell us the gender but it should look more like a baby and not a blob.
